What is CTH

The Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH) is the UK’s leading professional awarding body for qualifications in the specialist growing Hospitality and Tourism sector worldwide.

Over the last 30 years, CTH has focused on developing and adding value to careers in the industry globally. CTH was established in 1982 as a specialist professional body in the UK to focus on the training needs of new entrants to the Hospitality and Tourism industries, and now has accredited colleges worldwide delivering sought-after CTH qualifications.

CTH ensures its quality through its approved status with Ofqual and the QCA’s UK accredited qualification framework. All qualifications are developed in conjunction with the UK Sector Skills Council, People1st, to ensure relevance, value, and quality. This approach guarantees that CTH qualifications are valued by employers throughout the world.

The International Hotel School is a CTH approved training center and their Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts has been designed in partnership with Gordon Ramsay’s Tante Marie Culinary Academy.  

 

Course Description

The CTH Diploma in Hospitality Management aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the operational aspects of the international hotel industry, and knowledge of the underlying principles involved. The programme requires students to demonstrate interpersonal, self-study, research and presentation skills throughout the qualification. Assessments are developed to encourage these skills that will provide students with a very strong foundation for further studies in the Hospitality and Tourism sectors.

Awarding Body

Certificate for this course will be awarded by the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH).

Level 3,4,5 Diploma  

Academic Requirements

Applicants must have completed ONE of the following:

» SPM with 3 credits Pass in English

» STPM / 2 A Levels pass (E or above) MUET Band 3 and above

» 20 years old and 1 Credit in SPM (C or above), with 1-year supervisory level work experience.

» Student must be able to SPEAK and WRITE ENGLISH FLUENTLY

 

Course Structure

Compulsory Subjects:

» Varies depending on CTH Diploma level 3,4 or 5

There are no Optional Subjects.

 

Duration: Level 3 (6 months {1 semester}) Level 4 (12 months {2 semesters}) Level 5 {12 months})

Intakes: January, June, September. (Subject to change)

Course Assessments

Assessments are set and marked externally by CTH and constitute a combination of written assignments, time constrained examinations and classroom presentations.

Pathway

Successful Level 3 graduates may apply to gain entry to CTH Level 4 & Subsequently Level 5 Diploma in Hotel Management or alternatively enter the second year of a university degree in Hospitality and Tourism. The following image shows the pathway.
